There are many different types of genres in music, here is a list of the main genres:

My particular genre I have chosen for my music digi pack is house. House music is a sub genre to Dance music and also has sub genres itself, including: Electro House, Acid House, Disco House, French House, Vocal House, Tribal House, Progressive House and Funky House. House music originated in Chicago, Illinois, United States in the early 1980s. It was initially popularised in mid-1980s in discos, It then reached Europe, and since the early to mid-1990s, it has been infused in mainstream pop and dance music worldwide. Into the 2000's the genre had declined over the US however becoming increasingly popular over Europe, with artist's like Daft Punk and Benny Benassi becoming successful. Today, house music remains popular in both clubs and in the mainstream pop scene.
