My Research
From looking at my research I have found how different genres use different conventions, different styles of music videos, what it takes to make a successful music video, marketing, branding and merchandising of music promotional packages, different target audiences and their views (vox pops) and the permission and copyright to use music in videos. This has now helped me to make my decision into my ideas and my final products.
My Ideas
From carrying out my research I have come to a final decision to produce promotional music video for Swedish House Mafia's most popular and successful song, One (your name). The reason I have chosen to use Swedish House Mafia's One (your name) is because I have out that they are possibly one of the most well known and flexible House artist's, therefore many people will know the meaning of my ideas. My idea is to produce this and a digi pack consisting of an album and music magazine advert in order to promote the new artist who has played a cover of Swedish House Mafia's song. The name of my artist is DCDJ, I chose this because it is short catchy and easily remembered. The font I aim to use is very cool and sleek which relates well to my chosen genre of House music. This particular font is to be a type of branding I will use on my digi pack. My music video will consist of a car journey which I will speed up to make it more interesting, and with various studio shots, showing how the music is made. Nearer the end and in sync with the final drop of the song I aim to put in a clip of footage I filmed at a festival, which can represent the song being played as a performance. The digi pack I will create will link to my music video directly as you will see images seen in the video on the pack and by keeping it simple but cool I aim to stick with the conventions of house music.
My Target Audience
From carrying out the research I done on various different groups of target audiences depending on the genre of music I found my target audience I aim to target. This is both male and females from ages of 16 up to 30. However a more specific audience would be from 18 to 25, which is where most of my audience are outgoing and enjoy partying. I will target this audience through sticking conventions of house music, as this type of audience are attracted to house music and the conventions along with it.
